Jon Underwood takes the role of the National League

Former manager of Bracknell Town and Slough Town Jon Underwood has returned to the Enterprise National League.

Enfield Town – who finished 19th last season at the National League South – has confirmed the appointment of former Robins boss with announcements on social media.

Underwood will enter the London team as assistant manager under Gavin Macpherson while the club has appointed Jon Nurse as the Head of Football Operations.

Writing on social media, Underwood said: “When Gav said this was really useless for me … a great management team was there, talented squad that was completed last season and the opportunity to work again in the National League South which is stronger than before!”

Underwood will fight the former Slough city club next season and former co-manager and teammate Neil Baker who is in the management team in Farnborough.
