The 10 Most Viewed YouTube Videos in Tech History – 2 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – YouTube is one of the most popular video sharing platforms with 122 million daily users and 2.1 billion monthly users. Since its release in 2005, Dexerto has recorded that there have been more than 1 billion videos on the platform.

However, after 18 years of release, YouTube has experienced changes in audience demographics. Commercial music videos which often dominate the most watched videos have been replaced by children’s songs and educational videos.

From the Visual Capitalist report, 9 of the 20 most popular YouTube videos are children’s content. For example, the Baby Shark (do-do, do-do-do-do) video launched in 2016 became the first music video to exceed 10 billion views as of January 2021.

Baby Shark may even surpass Luis Fonsi’s Despacito music video. Previously, this video was recorded as the most watched with almost 5 billion views.

Currently, Baby Shark has been watched 13 billion times on YouTube and is still the most popular video. Meanwhile, Despacito is in second place with 8.2 billion views.

Besides Baby Shark, there are many more popular children’s music videos on the list. Starting from Johny Johny yes Papa in third place and fourth place is Bath Song from Cocomelon.
