Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has five grandchildren from his two children, namely Gibran Rakabuming and Kahiyang Ayu.
Jokowi’s five grandchildren are known for having unique names and strong Javanese and Arabic cultural philosophies. Not only that, there is a beautiful meaning behind the names of Jokowi’s five grandchildren.
The oldest grandson is Jan Ethes, who often joins Jokowi in various events. Jan Ethes is the son of Gibran Rakabuming, who has official status as vice presidential candidate accompanying Prabowo Subianto.

Jokowi’s first grandson is Jan Ethes Srinarendra who was born on March 10 2016. Jan means ‘very’, then Ethes means ‘dexterous’. While Sri Narendra means ‘intelligent leader’.
Jan Ethes now has the status of an elementary school student at Focus Independent School Solo.
2. La Manah Valley

La Lembah Manah is the younger brother of Jan Ethes. Again, a name that is unique and rarely heard.
His father, Gibran, explained that the meaning of the Manah Valley is humility. Meanwhile, the prefix ‘La’ at the beginning of the name is taken from the Javanese abbreviation, namely luwes anakku, lomo anakku. Flexible and lomomer are adjectives in Javanese which mean flexible, quick to adapt and happy to share.
La Lembah Manah was born at PKU Muhammadiyah Solo Hospital in November 2019.

Jokowi’s next grandchild is Sedah Mirah Nasution who is the first daughter of the couple Kahiyang Ayu and Bobby Nasution. Sedah Mirah was born on Wednesday, August 1 2018 in Jakarta and is Jokowi’s second grandchild.
The name Sedah Mirah comes from Javanese which contains the hope that her daughter will become a charming, pious and generous child for the people around her.
Meanwhile, Nasution is the surname of his father who currently serves as Mayor of Medan.
2. Panembahan Al Nahyan Nasution

The name of Jokowi’s next grandson is Panembahan Al Nahyan Nasution. This is the second child of Kahiyang and Bobby. Jokowi’s fourth grandson was born on August 3 2020 at YPK Mandiri Hospital.
It is known that there is a special meaning to the name Panembahan Al Nahyan Nasution. Quoted from various sources, ‘Panembahan’ is a person who is held in high esteem or whose level is below the title of Sultan or Great King.

3. Panembahan Al Saud Nasution
