Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- CNBC Indonesia is preparing to hold the 2023 CNBC Indonesia Awards as a form of appreciation for the performance achieved by economic actors and the business world throughout 2023.
Ahead of the 2023 CNBC Indonesia Awards, CNBC Indonesia is holding the 2023 Road to CNBC Indonesia Awards for the “The Best Insurance” category which will showcase the role and prospects of the Insurance sector which has performed well in driving Indonesia’s economic progress amidst global uncertainty.
In Road to CNBC Indonesia Arawds this time discusses issues related to the low penetration rate of the insurance industry in Indonesia because it has only reached 2.7%. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) said that the public’s lack of trust in insurance is causing this condition.
Deputy Chair of the Inter-Agency Division of the Indonesian General Insurance Association (AAUI), Heddy Agus Pritasa, believes that the low purchasing power means that purchasing insurance products has not become a priority for the public. Currently, efforts are needed to encourage customer awareness of the importance of insurance as an instrument of self-protection and to expand insurance distribution channels.
On the other hand, Executive Director of the Indonesian Sharia Insurance Association (AASI), Erwin Noekman, revealed that there are challenges in strengthening insurance literacy which is still fragmented. Therefore, national campaign efforts are needed regarding the insurance industry.
