Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Presidential candidate (capres) Prabowo Subianto’s response to the issue of political dynasties linked to vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka has shocked the virtual world.
Prabowo openly admits that politics in Indonesia cannot be separated from dynasty or hereditary factors. For example, Gibran, who is the son of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, is currently Mayor of Solo, and will run as Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
“Oh dynasty, everyone is also a dynasty, bro,” he said after the Gerindra Party National Leadership Meeting at The Darmawangsa Jakarta, Monday (23/10) yesterday.
Before making this statement, there was a funny moment which also became the spotlight on social media. Prabowo left the meeting place and appeared to give a sign of respect to the media crew.
However, not long after, he was seen jogging as if he wanted to ‘escape’ from the questions of the journalists who were waiting for the doorstop session.
Prabowo’s behavior was immediately greeted with laughter from the people present there. He immediately steadied himself to answer a series of questions, including the issue of dynasty which has become a hot topic recently.
Based on CNBC Indonesia’s monitoring, Tuesday (24/10/2023), the topic ‘Prabowo’ is among the most popular on X (formerly Twitter) today. Several netizens commented on the issue of Gibran’s ‘dynasty’ candidacy, and shared videos of Prabowo running away from journalists.
“Is it possible to be this funny? @prabowo @Gerindra,” said the account @kanikatoo
“Gibran’s effects come in the same way @PDI_Perjuangan it goes the same way @prabowo,” said the account @gojekmilitan
“Kabuuurr ah, I don’t want a doorstop
