The celebration supplies have arrived! Although most clubs have had a decent rest period ahead of Matchday 18, the quick turnaround begins in earnest now.
Tuesday will be the first of three Gameweek deadlines that must be negotiated within eight days.
This is a time of increased rotation, as Premier League bosses look to address leg fatigue and fatigue-related injuries.
For Fantasy managers, this is a time to tidy up the bench as an emergency substitute or two may be needed.
Here, we look at the turnaround times between league games over the next week or so. To do this, we will look at the Match Weeks in which clubs have had the least rest – potentially increasing the risk of rotation.
GAMEWEEKS 18-21 OVERVIEW: RECOVERY DAYS
Here we can look at each Premier League team’s recovery days. A big thank you goes to Legomane for the graphic:
Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United And Newcastle United has the most generous schedule overall.
Although the Gunners were able to turn things around quickly against Villa, a Tuesday-Saturday-Thursday game could be arranged later.
Liverpool’s tricky jump is 67.5 hours between Matchweeks 19 and 20. Additionally, there is a very long recovery time on both sides.
Man Utd and Newcastle have the same Friday-Tuesday-Sunday-Wednesday schedule, with Gameweek 20-21 finishing the quickest. Even so, that means more than 72 hours between matches.
The worst overall? It will happen Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Sunderland And Tottenham Hotspur. The four clubs play Sunday-Thursday-Sunday-Wednesday, getting two days less rest than the four clubs mentioned previously.
The Eagles are running out of steam after a busy December, while Sunderland are missing six players due to their involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.
