Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The temperature in a place can be influenced by many factors, such as geographical location, elevation, rainfall, and many other factors. However, it turns out that there are several places that have very hot temperatures. In fact, in some places the temperature can reach 50 degrees Celsius or more.
Launching from the official page Guinness World Recordsthe World Meteorological Organization (WMO) noted that the Greenland Ranch area, Death Valley, California, United States (US), is the area with the highest temperature in the world, namely 56.7 degrees Celsius.
In addition, WMO noted that the average daily air temperature in Furnace Creek, Death Valley reached 115 degrees Fahrenheit or around 46.1 degrees Celsius. This figure succeeded in making Death Valley the most ‘boiling’ place in the world.

Then, on June 15, 1972, researchers discovered a hotter temperature at Death Valley’s ground surface, reaching 201 degrees Fahrenheit or around 93.8 degrees Celsius.
“One of the reasons Death Valley is the hottest place in the world is because it is located about 190 feet below sea level, the air temperature is warm, and the rainfall is less than three inches each year,” wrote Guinness World Records, quoted Wednesday (26 /4/2023).
For information, Death Valley is a valley-shaped area that is around 225 kilometers long and has varying widths, namely from eight to 24 kilometers. Death Valley is the lowest, hottest and driest place in North America.

According to the official website of the US Department of the Interior, July 2018 was the hottest month in this region. The average daily temperature reaches 108.1 degrees Fahrenheit or around 42 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the highest temperature during the day reached 127 degrees Fahrenheit or 52 degrees Celsius for four consecutive days.
Previously, the record for the hottest place in the world was recorded by El Azizia, Libya with a record of 58 degrees Celsius. However, WMO decided to withdraw the record after further research was carried out.
Based on the results of research in 2012, WMO concluded that the record set by El Azizia, Libya, was inaccurate by as much as seven degrees Celsius due to a combination of various factors, including the surface not representing real desert land.
