Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Both HP manufacturers from China, Oppo and Xiaomi will have different fates in the third quarter of 2023. Xiaomi cellphones sold well, while Oppo’s sales fell in the July to September period

Xiaomi is listed as the brand with the largest growth in terms of market share in Indonesia.

This was revealed in a report released by the Counterpoint research institute regarding the smartphone market in Indonesia in Q3 2023.


Compared to competitors such as Xiaomi, it is listed as the best-selling brand with growth of 30% YoY.

In the same period in 2022, Xiaomi will have a 15% market share in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in Q3 this year it rose to 18%.

Counterpoint Senior Analyst Febriman Abdillah said, Xiaomi is trying to strengthen its supply, distribution and sales programs through price promotions or discounts.

Meanwhile, Oppo’s sales fell 12%.

In Indonesia, Oppo is recorded as having a market share of 18% in Q3 2023, compared to the same period the previous year of 22%.

Oppo is not the only one experiencing a decline in market share. There is Vivo which experienced the highest decline this quarter.

In the Counterpoint report, Vivo is in fourth position with market control of 16%. Even though in the same period the previous year it had a market share of 19%. As a result, Vivo’s YoY growth value fell -13%.

There is also Samsung, which has the highest market share in Q3 this year at 20%.

However, the technology giant from South Korea experienced a decline in annual growth of -1%. Previously they controlled 21% market share throughout Q3 2022.
