Mortimer boss Mike Hancock announced a departure


The Thames side of Valley Premier Mortimer League looking for a new manager after Mike Hancock announced his decision to resign.

Hancock – Former City of Reading Town and Bracknell Town – has been responsible for the West Berkshire team for several seasons and lead this year’s team in Division one.

Announced his decision on social media, Hancock said: “It was a difficult decision to make but I had decided to resign as manager of the Mortimer Football Club. I would like to thank everyone for all their efforts, Plummy, Matthew Gabb and Matt C for all their support behind the scenes. Michael Buck Absolute Legenda and likes to work with you.”

This is a difficult season for Mortimer, the club made a decision to fold their first team to play in the Hellenic League two division, in October and has focused efforts on their backup side on TVPL.
