Ministry of Defense Website Broken, Minister of Communication and Information More Afraid of Cheating Tech Leaks – 8 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Not long ago it was reported that the Ministry of Defense website was hacked. Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi did not want to comment on the news of the leak.

Budi said the news was just an issue. Even while joking, he added that the leaked affair was even more terrifying.

“No, those are just rumors. What leaks, what do you want leaked anyway. “What’s scary is the cheating leak,” said Budi, when met at the Ministry of Communication and Information office, Thursday (2/11/2023).

The news of the leak was revealed by an X account named @stealthmode_int. The account said hackers appeared who sold data on the ministry’s website on the dark web or black market.

“A hacker claimed to have successfully hacked the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and posted a message on the dark web, offering to sell confidential and sensitive website documents and admin access,” wrote the account.

The leaked data is estimated at 1.64 TB. The account confirmed 1,484 exposed credentials on the dark web.

According to this account, it is estimated that the data leak occurred due to Stealer malware. However, future investigation of this issue is needed.

“One possible scenario is the use of accounts leaked by the Stealer malware. We confirm 1,484 credentials related to the Ministry of Defense were exposed on the darkweb due to the Stealer malware,” explained the account.
