Latest evidence that Indonesian citizens are increasingly fond of using Pinjol from Google Tech – 15 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The results of eConomy SEA 2023 research conducted by Google, Temasek and Bain&Company reveal that Indonesian people still like to use online loans (pinjol). Digital financial services, including loans, are expected to rise rapidly from a low base.

The value of digital loans (loanbook) increased from US$ 5 billion (Rp. 79 trillion) last year, it is projected to reach US$ 6 billion (Rp. 95 trillion) in 2023.

In this research, it appears that the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of digital loans will jump sharply to 50 percent in 2025. It is projected that the loan book balance will reach US$ 15 billion (Rp. 239 trillion) in that year.

Moreover, taking loans from illegal loans that are not registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

OJK announced the latest list of Fintech peer to peer (p2p) lending companies, aka licensed loans, as of October 11 2023. Currently, there are 101 legal loans registered with the OJK.

Through its announcement letter number PENG-3/PL.021/2023, OJK urges the public to always use the services of fintech lending providers that have permission from the OJK.
