Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the discovery of a casino membership card in Genting, Malaysia belonging to former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL).
“I’ve read that, news related to suspected membership cards, casinos in the name of SYL and that has also been conveyed by Mr. Asep (Director of Corruption Eradication Committee Investigations), if I’m not mistaken,” said Head of the Corruption Eradication Committee, Ali Fikri, when confirmed in writing, Sunday (12 /11/2023).
The card with the name ‘Junket’ with the number 12479988006-1603-62 in the name of Syahrul Yasin Limpo was found by a team of investigators when searching the official residence of the Minister of Agriculture on Jalan Widya Chandra V, South Jakarta, two months ago. “Of course we will investigate further because this is part of a series of findings from the search process at the Minister of Agriculture’s official residence at that time, so we need to investigate further,” he added.
Apart from casino gambling member cards, the KPK has also found checks worth IDR 2 trillion. However, the check was confirmed by PPATK to be fake, aka fake.
However, according to Ali, the check remains as evidence which will be submitted to the trial judge to test its validity.
“Speaking like that, legal facts are much more important, not just arguments, and also perceptions, for example, because our domain is legal facts that actually need to be tested in front of a panel of judges, including the discovery of a membership card at a casino,” he explained. .
