Jabodebek LRT Fares Guaranteed Not to Increase This Year, Still the Same Rate News – 4 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) as the operator of light rail transit or integrated highway (LRT) ensures that it will not increase LRT fares this year, the reason is because of people’s purchasing power.

“Until this year, there hasn’t been any. We have surveyed people’s ability to pay. Until now we have not received information about the tariff increase, because this is according to the law at the Ministry of Transportation,” said KAI Commuter Vice President Corporate Secretary Anne Purba in a press conference, Monday ( 6/11/2023).

Since October 1 2023, there has been an increase in the Jabodebek LRT fare to a maximum of IDR 20,000. Previously during the promo period the fare was only IDR 5,000 one way.

It was recorded that during the promo period the flat fare of IDR 5,000 for all Jabodebek LRT connections succeeded in transporting as many as 1.5 million people using the service. Currently the Jabodebek LRT only operates 16 trainsets with 234 trips every day.

The Jabodebek LRT tariff was previously determined through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number KM 67 of 2023 concerning Tariffs for Transporting People by Integrated Light Rail in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi Regions to Carry Out Public Service Obligations.

Based on this decision, Jabodebek LRT ticket prices start from IDR 5,000 for the first 1 km, and increase by IDR 700 per subsequent Km.

“We are sure that people who use the Jabodebek LRT every day will still choose the Jabodebek LRT for transportation from Jati Mulya in East Bekasi and Harjamukti in Cibubur to Dukuh Atas or vice versa, because it is free of traffic jams and much more comfortable,” explained the Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager. , Kuswardoyo in an official statement, some time ago.
