Quote

“I really think about my future and this is what I want. I think I will be suitable for how to play Chelsea, so I’m sure I will take my steps to Chelsea.” – Jorrel Hato

“He is fast, he is strong, good tall, not too high for central defender, a good overall technique, quite complete.” – Frank de Boer

2023/24 33 (0) 2962 1 2
2022/23 6 (5) 608 0 0

* Eredivisie only

Hato, who joined the prestigious Ajax Academy system, was 12 years old, made an Eredivisie debut for Ajax in February 2023. The first league began for the club followed by the end of the season.

The Dutch player quickly entered the first team and started everything except one Eredivisie Ajax match in 2023/24. All except six of 33 began Hato came as the central defender of the left side.

However, last season Hato mostly played the role of the left back upside down, with 28 out of 31 appearances coming in that position. This change in position seeing an increase in the threat of attacking when the young man gave eight attacks.

Hato has performed for the Dutch senior team on six occasions, with his latest hat coming in March this year.

The underlying number

The amount underlying Hato is truly a story of two seasons and two positions. Using the data table above, we can see the threat of his attacks increase significantly when he played more the role of left back last season.

Assist per 90 number 0.21 is mainly prominent, like the high volume of the touter of the penalty area when given a license to advance. Chelsea left back popped in the opposition box has become a theme under Marsa.

apart from Trevoh Chalobah (£ 5.0 million), which spent the first half of the season with a loan at Crystal Palace, no other Chelsea defender will take defensive contribution points (DC) on more than three opportunities.

Based on Chelsea’s style of play and the basic numbers of Hato on Ajax, on average around 7.4 and 6.2 CBIT per 90, it seems that it will not be a regular DC point.

Where Hato is suitable at Chelsea

FPL Note: George in front, Palmer Deep, Cucurella Score again 6

Chelsea’s need for a clear strengthening of left back.

Follow Renato VeigaThe decision to find a regular minute in January, Chelsea was left without competition for Marc Cucurella (£ 6.0 million) at the left back. This caused Cucurella to top the charts for a few minutes to play for the entire Chelsea squad, with nearly 5,000 for clubs and countries.

According to Athletic, Chelsea believed that the eight -year -old gap between Cucurella and Hato “created a perfect mentor/metee relationship at the left back”.

With only under half minutes of Hato’s senior who came at the central defender, Enzo Marsca would no doubt enjoy its fabrication and will to play a different role, something Veiga failed.

“If there are players who only want to play in just one position, they will fight.” – Enzo Marsca

Injury Levi Colwill (£ 5.0 million) is something to be monitored, for example. Colwill was quite close in 2024/25, supported by Benoit Badiashile (£ 4.5 million) when needed.

That’s not to say that Enzo Marsca could not work the system with Cucurella, Hato And Other left side backs! This is not a stretch to imagine the ranks with Cucurella’s bomb as a left winger with Reece James (£ 5.5 million), Colwill/Badiashile and Hato formed three backs.

One last note: Hato is about 10cm higher than Cucurella, so he gives marsa options that are more dominant in certain equipment.

So, don’t be surprised to see Cucurella’s iron grip on the left-back slot a little loose if he is likely to start most of the league matches at first.

Is Hato worth buying at FPL?

Like standing, no, Hato is not an option on FPL. In the near future, it will require a long injury or prohibition on Cucurella, or injury to Badiashile and Colwill, to make the Dutch people a reliable choice for FPL managers.

But if Hato impresses Marsa in such a way that Italy finds a way to regularly play them both, the opportunity to save £ 1.0 million on the Cucurella premium price label will no doubt be received.

Meanwhile, the fantasy option to exploit strong equipment from Chelsea at a low price is possible Wesley Fofana (£ 4.5 million), which has returned to the first team’s training after a long absence.
