The Coronation Street Sally and the Metcalfe team (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) have just made a decision that they want to become foster parents.
The idea was originally a team. The couple had tried to help Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), a teenager who had problems in the environment had surrendered.
They found that Mason sincerely tried to change his life and, with the support of the team and Sally, he could achieve that. Unfortunately his life was interrupted when he was stabbed, something that made the team feel guilty and hoped he could do more.
When she took Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) and her daughter in the taxi when she tried to escape her cruel husband, Mick (Joe Layton), the team again showed her concern.
When Lou fled from the hospital where he took him, the team was responsible for maintaining Shanice (Molly Kilduff) and Joanie (Savanna Pennington) and brought them back to number 4.
After this team made an appointment with social services to be considered foster parents. Sally was initially angry because she did this without consulting her but finally came to that idea.
Recently we saw the team once again guarding Shanice and Joanie. Unfortunately this did not go well, because of the quarrel between the couples who were annoyed Shanice. For him, the dispute reminded him of the argument of violence that had erupted between Lou and Mick.
It was a lesson for Sally and the team and they remembered it when Lou next asked them to look after the girls. Lou explained to Brody (Ryan Mulvey) that there was no food at home, but at least he knew that the team and Sally would give girls that were decent food.
Aware of the difficult situation faced by the two girls at home, Sally and the team debate what to do and the best way to help them.

In the coming episode, Sally decides the best thing to contact social services with their concern for the welfare of girls.
Obviously this is something that will not match Lou, because he is at risk of losing his children at all – and on the wrong side of Lou is not a good idea.
But for Sally and the team, the experience of maintaining Shanice and Joanie has made them more confident than before that fostering is what they want to do.
