5 Recommended Books about Palestine Along with Download Links Lifestyle – 3 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Entering 24 days of war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Group, Israel is becoming increasingly fierce in launching its attacks on Palestinian land.

Most recently, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, emphasized that his party rejected the ceasefire that had been called for by the United Nations (UN) through a UN General Assembly resolution.

“The call for a ceasefire is a call for Israel to surrender to Hamas, surrender to terrorism… This will not happen,” said Netanyahu, quoted by AFP, Tuesday (31/10/2023).

“Israel will fight until this battle is won,” Netanyahu vowed.

To date, Al Jazeera, citing a statement from the Gaza Ministry of Health, revealed that the total number of fatalities resulting from this incident was around 8,000 people, most of whom were women and children.

However, until now there are still many people who do not fully understand what happened between Palestine and Israel, so they have been at odds for decades.

There are several books that thoroughly examine the story behind Israel’s colonization of Palestinian land. The following is a recommended free download link for a book that can explain Palestine vs Israel.

1. The Palestine Laboratory
Israel’s military-industrial complex uses the occupied Palestinian territories as a test area for weapons and surveillance technology that is then exported around the world.

“For more than 50 years, the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza has provided Israel with valuable experience in controlling the population of the “enemy,” namely the Palestinians. It is here that they have perfected the architecture of control,” wrote a synopsis of The Palestine Laboratory.

This book written by Antony Loewenstein reveals how Palestine became the “perfect laboratory” for Israel’s military-technological complex: surveillance, home demolitions, indefinite detention, and brutality became the sophisticated tools that powered the “Start-up Nation.”

2. Palestine Speaks
The book Palestine Speaks written by Cate Malek and Mateo Hoke conveys how men and women in the West Bank and Gaza describe their lives while under Israeli occupation, including eyewitness reports regarding the attacks on Gaza in 2014.

“For more than six decades, Israel and Palestine have been at the center of one of the most reported, but least understood human rights crises in the world,” reads the synopsis for Palestine Speaks.

Apart from that, Palestine Speaks also includes the stories of Palestinian citizens, Ebtihaj, whose child was killed by Israeli soldiers and professional marathon runner from the Gaza Strip, Nader, who is determined to pursue his dream of competing in an international race despite being faced with various challenges, including strict travel restrictions and a lack of resources to the practice.

3. Blaming the Victims
The book Blaming the Victims reveals the historical fate of the Palestinian people who have never received basic democratic rights.

Apart from thoroughly examining Joan Peters’ “false claims” regarding the native Palestinian population before 1948, this book also sharply criticizes the broad consensus in the United States (US) which supports Israel and is “completely silent” regarding the fate of the Palestinian people.

4. The Case for Sanctions Against Israel
The book The Case for Sanctions Against Israel discusses how a number of countries in the world continue to try to boycott Israel after Israel passed a law (UU) that prohibits public support for boycott activities against countries, companies and settlements, as well as prohibiting freedom of speech regarding the blockade on Gaza and expansion of illegal settlements.

5. The Punishment of Gaza
The book The Punishment of Gaza written by Gideon Levy reveals the brutality of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Apart from that, this book also examines the development of Israeli policies that rely on military force to prevent Palestinians from forming an independent independent state.
