Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Israeli attack on Gaza, Palestine has been going on for more than a month. Based on the latest data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 10,568 residents were reported killed and 4,324 others injured.
The number of victims is expected to continue to increase, following the statement that Israel will not implement a ceasefire. This condition has frustrated health workers, such as doctors, nurses, administrative staff and rescue crews in Gaza.
Israel’s relentless attacks on Gaza have forced health workers to work 24 hours a day. As a result, some of them experience extreme fatigue, psychological exhaustion, and even frustration due to lack of resources.
“Before the war, we were responsible for alleviating the stress and trauma of the victims. Now, it is our turn to need a way out to deal with tired bodies and souls,” said Al-Daraj Medical Complex nurse, Huda Shokry, quoted from Al JazeeraFriday (10/11/2023).
Even though I have experienced burnout or mentally tired, emergency room supervisor at Al-Daraj, Dr. Ahmed Ghoul, said that health workers remained committed to treating war victims.

“Despite lacking almost everything necessary to do our job effectively, we do not leave our workplace, day or night, except to go to the toilet,” said Dr. Ghouls.
“We don’t even remember the day because we are more worried about the thousands of people who were injured,” he continued.
According to reports Al Jazeera, health workers in Gaza no longer have beds. Not only that, they also don’t have time to sleep.
The room previously prepared for health workers to rest has now been turned into a patient care area. Apart from that, their beds are also used for operations and emergency care.
Meanwhile, most hospital kitchens are no longer functioning because Gaza lacks food for staff and patients.
“We are tired of what we have seen. Being a doctor in the war in Gaza means having to lose fear and fatigue. It is impossible to maintain a normal spirit and emotions,” said Shokry.
