Combined Counties League Division One leaders Brook House suffered a devastating blow at the hands of Berks County on Tuesday night with Shaquille Johnson scoring a hat-trick.
The former Windsor & Eton striker has now scored four goals in the last three games as Swords racked up an impressive 17 goals in a week with a 4-0 win over Sandhurst Town, a 6-1 win over Rising Ballers Kensington and a stunning 7-3 win over now-dethroned league leaders Brook House.
Johnson is County’s top scorer this season with 22 goals as Swords look to quickly return to Step 5 after relegation in the summer.
The battle for the four play-off places is essentially between seven teams although Westside and Wembley could come into play with plenty of games remaining.
Beating the teams above them certainly benefits County (as does having the second-best goal difference and second-highest goals scored in the division), and it was Woodley United who also won on Tuesday night – 1-0 at home to London Samurai Rovers.

What made Berks County’s win even more impressive was Ben Hall and Dan Money’s side coming back from 2-0 down after Anthony Emeh scored twice for the visitors at Ascot United’s Racecourse Ground.
Johnson and Harrison Davey tied the score in both halves but Trey Pender-Brown gave Brook house a 3-2 lead shortly after.
From then on it was all blade as first Harry Lee then Ikhon Ward (five goals in three games) made it 4-3 before Johnson scored in the 73rd minute and again in the second minute of stoppage time. Lee completed it with a penalty in the 94th minute.

Hungerford Town vs Bracknell Town in the Southern League Southern Premier Division resulted in nine yellow cards and a 2-1 win for the Robins thanks to goals from Jake Thomas-Coomes and Seb Bowerman after Joshua Marcon had given the Crusaders a 10th-minute lead.
The extremely tight nature of Isthmian League South Central Division One means that despite winning four and drawing one of their last six games – including Tuesday night’s 3-0 win at Horndean thanks to hat-trick hero Kickie Dzimba – Binfield still have a lot of work to do but are four points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand.
Tadley Calleva will surely be in the Combined Nations League Premier Division play-offs at the end of the season after beating leaders Cobham on Saturday and on Tuesday night at Barlows Park, beating giants Tooting & Mitcham United 3-0 with goals for Brad Neal, Ash Neal and Kieran Rodgers. Eversley & California’s chances of survival were improved with a 3-1 win at home to Epsom & Ewell but Thatcham Town lost 1-0 at Redhill.
