Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Director & CIO of Fixed Income Manulife Asset Management Indonesia (MAMI), Ezra Nazula sees Bank Indonesia’s move to raise the BI7DRR benchmark interest rate to 6% as one of the central bank’s strategies to maintain the exchange rate and restrain capital outflow.
Ezra is optimistic that when expectations of interest rate cuts begin to strengthen and the exchange rate becomes more stable, the flow of foreign funds will return to the capital market.
Facing the current market turmoil, MAMI implements an active management strategy in managing investment portfolios, including fixed income mutual funds. As currently there is a prospect of shifting to short-tenor instruments to reduce risk.
