Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Online shopping platform Tokopedia launches feature ‘Multiple Product Search’ or ‘Search at Once’ and ‘Buy More Save More’ or ‘Buy More Save’. This step was taken considering that many people are increasingly relying on online shopping to get various necessary products.
It is known that in 2022, the number of users e-commerce in Indonesia it increased by 12.79%, reaching 178.94 million, compared to 2021 which reached 158.65 million. User e-commerce in Indonesia it is projected that it will continue to increase until it reaches 196.47 million by the end of 2023.
Tokopedia Associate Vice President Product Campaign and Promotions Helena said that the high interest in online shopping among people in Indonesia is also reflected in Tokopedia’s internal data.
“Tokopedia recorded an increase in transactions in various product categories during the third quarter of 2023, including Fashion, Automotive, Electronics, Household and Daily Necessities/Groceries (such as Food and Drink, Health and Body Care),” he said in a written statement, Wednesday (22/11/2023).
The Multiple Product Search feature allows people to shop online more economically in terms of time and shipping costs. Through this feature, users can search for more than one product simultaneously and get recommendations for shop options that sell all of these products at once.
Tokopedia Senior Product Manager Lead Hefrian Syah explained that through this feature the online shopping process becomes time-saving because there is no need to search manually one by one. Users can also save on postage because they only charge it from one shop, it can even be free or free of charge.
“This feature was created when the Product team discovered that there was a need for buyers to find one store that sells various products they need at one time. After conducting research and validating this need, we together with the team Designer And Engineer “Tokopedia is starting to develop relevant features,” he said.

The ‘Search at Once’ feature can be used by clicking the search column on the main page of the Android and iOS versions of the Tokopedia application, then typing in one of the products you are looking for, and clicking the sign at the far right. After that, buyers can add up to two other products they need at the same time.
Finally, click ‘Search’ and Tokopedia will recommend a selection of shops that sell various products you are looking for at once.
This feature has a positive impact on Tokopedia users, including buyers. One of them is Leona Agustine, a content creator and Tokopedia user with ‘Diamond’ status or the highest level of buyer membership on Tokopedia.
“Through this feature, I find it easier to search for the various products I need without having to search in different stores. I can also save time that is usually spent searching for products and can save more in terms of postage because the various needs I am looking for can be purchased from one store just,” he explained.
While features’Buy More Save More‘ or ‘Buy More Save’ allows people to shop online more affordably. In this feature, users can buy more products to get bigger discounts or other benefits according to the terms of the seller’s shop, such as buy 2 with a 10% discount, buy 3 with a 20% discount, and so on.
“In the creation process, the Tokopedia Product and Research and Development Team found that there was a need for sellers to provide additional benefits in each transaction and encourage potential buyers to buy more products. Together with the Engineering team, the Tokopedia Product and Research and Development team, built relevant features , which can also enrich the benefits for buyers,” said Helena.
As for feature ‘Buy More Save More’ can be used by going to the seller’s shop page that is holding this promotion, then scroll to search and go to the ‘section’Buy More Save More‘ on the shop’s main page. After that, select the required product. Leona has also used the ‘Buy More Save More’ feature and felt the benefits.
“Shopping for daily necessities can be more affordable because the more products you buy, the bigger the discount you get. Through this feature, I can also easily choose what products I want to buy in the Buy More Save More section on my favorite seller’s store page ,” said Leona.
Furthermore, to continue to accommodate the high public interest in online shopping, Tokopedia also presents the Tokopedia Discount WAR campaign every day at 14.00 WIB, which allows people to shop online more cheaply. Through this campaign, people can get various products from various categories with big discounts.
