Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Presidential candidate from the PDIP camp, Ganjar Pranowo, admitted that he was optimistic that he could win the vote in Central Java. According to Ganjar, Central Java is still PDIP’s home ground.
“Still (optimistic about winning) because Central Java is a bullpen, now the cadres will definitely be ready,” said Ganjar as written, Friday (3/11/2023).
In an interview with CNN Indonesia TV, Ganjar also touched on the status of PDIP cadre Gibran Rakabuming Raka after deciding to join as Prabowo Subianto’s vice presidential candidate.
“To this day, yes (Gibran is still PDIP). But I think our party system can run according to what has been assigned by the party and usually we work extraordinary. That’s my experience,” he added.
However, Ganjar confirmed that Central Java was the PDIP’s strength base. This is also what made Ganjar win as Governor of Central Java. However, this doesn’t mean that Ganjar is too confident, PDIP will make various strategies so that he wins in Central Java.

“When I was governor for the first period, my opponents were also two former PDI Perjuangan, there were sympathizers who came forward and indeed I was at that time. That means strong consolidation within our body but of course there is plan A, plan B, plan C, right? “We must not be arrogant about our work and meeting with the community,” explained Ganjar.
Previously, Gibran said that Central Java would not be easy for his camp to win in the 2024 presidential election. Because Central Java is the PDIP’s power base.
“Central Java is not easy, it is not our base. I am sure that with the enthusiasm of all ladies and gentlemen, with the enthusiasm of all our friends, we can conquer Central Java,” said Gibran while attending a dialogue at Joglo Jembar, Keji Muntilan, quoting 20 seconds, Wednesday (1/11/2023).
Therefore, Gibran decided to go on a political safari in Central Java in order to boost his electoral standing in that area. Not only that, Gibran will also focus the work of his volunteers in the area once led by Ganjar Pranowo.
“Why do I have to go to Central Java first, because Central Java is the hardest. That’s why ladies and gentlemen, my fellow volunteers will focus their hard work on Central Java,” explained Gibran.
