The construction of IKN airport will be accelerated within 2 years with a multiple contract in 2023 – 2024, so that it can be operated in mid-2024. It is hoped that it will soon be able to provide limited services, to support services and activities in the capital city of the archipelago.


“God willing, we will complete (construction) in June 2024, we are working on this together with the Ministry of PUPR on the air side and with the Ministry of Transportation on the land side,” said Budi Karya during the ground breaking at Nusantara Capital Airport, Wednesday (1/11/2023) .

The Minister of Transportation said that later this 347 hectare airport would provide limited services in July 2024, for aircraft such as the Airbus-300. Then in December wide-body aircraft such as the Boeing 777 and Airbus 380 were also able to land.

“Where we can provide limited service efforts in July, in the sense of the word Airbus-300 in July can land and in December Triple 7 (Boeing 777) and (Airbus) 380 can land at this airport,” said Budi Karya.
