Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – All business entities providing fuel oil (BBM) in Indonesia on November 1 2023 officially reduced the prices of their fuel products. These include PT Pertamina (Persero), Shell Indonesia, BP-AKR and Vivo Energy Indonesia.
For example, the price of non-subsidized fuel such as Pertamax in DKI Jakarta has decreased from previously being set at IDR 14,000 per liter, now to IDR 13,400 per liter. Then Pertamax Turbo, from the previous Rp. 16,000 per liter, was set to Rp. 15,500 per liter.
Next, Dexlite fuel products fell to IDR 16,950 per liter from the previous IDR 17,200 per liter. The price of Pertamina DEX also fell from the previous IDR 17,900 per liter to IDR 17,750 per liter.
“The price of non-subsidized fuel every month as of the 1st is adjusted according to market prices, but we can say that Pertamina’s fuel price is the most competitive to maintain people’s purchasing power,” said the VP Corporate Communications PT Pertamina Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Wednesday (1/11/2023).
The decline in fuel prices at gas stations in Indonesia is interesting to note when compared with neighboring countries. Indonesia is not the cheapest in selling fuel, where there is still Malaysia which sells its fuel products cheaply, the reason is because all the fuel sold in Malaysia is subsidized.
However, looking at other countries, fuel prices in Indonesia are still much cheaper than Singapore, which reaches up to IDR 31,910 per liter.
